Born in Baalbeck in 1956, Amal Matar's journey was one of self-discovery and artistic exploration. After moving to Beirut and obtaining her Baccalaureate in 1975, she ventured to Italy, where she earned a Ph.D. in Pharmacy from Milano University in 1981.
During her academic years, Amal worked on dubbing films into Arabic, but it was not until she moved to France that she discovered her passion for art. Attending classes and experimenting with drawing on silk and other materials, she soon found herself immersed in the world of art. Returning to Lebanon in 1993, Amal continued to pursue her passion and in 2004, decided to take her interest to a professional level. Studying Fine Arts at the Lebanese University, she received a Diploma in 2008. Amal's portraits are a reflection of her unique style - one that combines different art techniques to convey a message that is both powerful and thought-provoking. Her work is a free-form expression of reality that captures the essence of the human experience.
Over the years, Amal has participated in several exhibitions, including the UNESCO Palace and the Grand Show exhibition for three consecutive years. Her solo exhibitions in Saida have also been met with great acclaim. Through her art, Amal Matar continues to inspire others while exploring the infinite possibilities of the human spirit.
