Born in Nabatieh in 1985, Zahed Koubayssi is a Lebanese artist with a passion for calligraphy, painting, and graphic design. He earned his bachelor's degree in graphic design from the Lebanese International University in Beirut in 2008.
In 2013, Zahed founded "Bo-Zar Art and Calligraphy" in Hamra and Nabatieh, where he specializes in Islamic calligraphy. Bo-Zar has since expanded to include a graphic design studio and a specialized art shop. Zahed now teaches calligraphy at the American University of Beirut and has conducted workshops and lectures at the Lebanese American University, Lebanese International University, and various art centers.
Zahed's artistic talent has earned him commissions from prestigious international companies such as Vichy, Samsung, Lancôme, and Giorgio Armani. He has also executed several artistic projects, including murals, installations, and iron sculptures.
Zahed's artwork reflects his intellectual longing for creative ideas, and his paintings explore the intersection between Arabic calligraphy and fine arts. He uses vibrant colors and calligraphy styles to capture and reflect different human emotions and cultures. Zahed treasures literature and incorporates poems and quotes into his art, using acrylics and oil on canvas.
Through his art, Zahed aspires to create a movement that finds beauty in the revival of ancient calligraphy. He believes that ancient art and calligraphy legacies are great sources of inspiration for innovation and creativity.
